Air

Air

Canada’s air quality is affected by a number of factors, including emissions from industrial processes, electricity generation and transportation.

We manage our impact on air quality by adding emission controls, improving plant reliability and enhancing our ability to detect and repair small leaks of fugitive emissions.

We are reducing emissions of sulphur dioxide (S02), nitrogen oxide (NOX) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from our operations and the use of our products through the implementation of cost-effective technologies and new operating practices.

We work to reduce our impact on air quality by:

  • investing in fuel reformulation
  • reducing energy use
  • adding emission controls
  • managing fugitive emissions
  • monitoring regional air quality
  • applying best practices and procedures to reduce emissions
