STUDENT TERM EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
 
JOB TITLE:     RESEARCH TECHNOLOGIST TRAINEE
DIVISION:        DOWNSTREAM AND CHEMICAL - RESEARCH 
                         DEPARTMENT
 
ASSIGNMENT:
You will be working in Imperial Oil's Research Department, which is the largest facility of its kind in Canada and has demonstrated an outstanding record of technical innovation.
 
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducting laboratory tests and operating laboratory instrumentation
  • Participating in research projects
  • Providing computer analysis and interpretation of data
  • Generating documentation and communicating the results
BENEFITS TO YOU:
You'll be working with chemical technologists, research chemists or chemical engineers.   You will gain valuable hands on laboratory experience in a state of the art research facility.   
 
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
 
ACADEMIC:  
2nd year Science Lab Technology student or Chemical Engineering Technology student.
 
OTHER:  
  • Sound reasoning ability
  • High level of self-initiative
  • Strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
 LOCATION:  
Sarnia, Ontario  (in Southwestern Ontario, on the banks of Lake Huron, one hour west of London, Ontario.)  Imperial Oil offers a student relocation program.
 
START DATE:  May, 2010.
